Don’t try and excel too much at your job or they’ll come to expect it and when you try to apply for a job you’re already doing you’ll be over looked for someone else. Some departments are good about promoting from within others are not. There are so many politics and if you’re trying to move up or around they make you feel guilty for not participating in department outings, that are on your day off and unpaid. That’s less than what you get with other companies that offer two weeks of PTO, sick leave, and paid holidays. There is no sick leave and you only get 17 days a year of PTO. With it being 24/7 you never get holidays unless you use PTO. What most don’t understand is that it is a 24/7 establishment and they only have to abide by federal laws. Pechanga might seem like a great place to work as they seem to pay well and appear to have great benefits.
